When oil paint meets extraordinary creativity, the resulting work can be a synergistic explosion of emotion on the canvas. This is what happens each time Aleta Pippin sets to work with a palette knife and her oils, mixed with her unique medium that results in exquisitely thin glazes. A single painting may have as many as 30 layers of glazed color, creating a glowingly rich depth of color.

But Aleta is more than simply a painter of pictures; she is an artist who reaches out with her medium to touch each person in the very core of their being, that place in all of us that does not recognize shape or form, but innately reacts to color, passion, joy and possibility. Her images are often inspired by music, ranging from Pink Floyd to George Gershwin. And, consequently, the name for each canvas simply seems to come to her as she finishes the work.
